  • Dream On (TV series) (1992)  HBO comedy about a divorced father who works as a book editor, starring Brian Benben. (Salma was a guest star, playing a smart, sexy maid.)
  • Nurses (TV series) (1993)  NBC sitcom about nurses working in a hospital. (Salma was a guest star, playing Gina's sister, Yolanda Cuevas.)
  • The Sinbad Show (TV series) (1993)  Fox sitcom starring comedian Sinbad, as a video game programmer raising two kids. (Salma had a regular role, playing his neighbor Gloria.)
  • Mi Vida Loca  a.k.a. My Crazy Life (1993)  Directed by: Allison Anders  Starring: Angel Aviles Seidy Lopez  Plot summary: Mousie and Sad Girl are childhood best friends in a contemporary Los Angeles poor Hispanic neighborhood. But when Sad Girl becomes pregnant by Mousie's boyfriend, a drug dealer named Ernesto, the two become bitter enemies. While their dispute escalates towards violence, the violence of the world around them soon also impacts their lives. (Salma has a small supporting role as Gata.)

  • Fair Game (1995)  Directed by: Andrew Sipes  Starring: William Baldwin Cindy Crawford  Plot summary: Max Kirkpatrick is an excellent cop who takes it to himself to protect the lovely Kate McQuean, a civil law attorney, from a renegade KGB team out to terminate her. An exciting chase ensures, with the KGB team demonstrating its prowess at electronic tracking.  (Salma plays Max's "jilted lover" Rita.)
  • Desperado (1995)  Directed by: Robert Rodriguez  Starring: Antonio Banderas Joaquim De Almeida  Plot summary: It's the sequel to the critically acclaimed El Mariachi, where a musician, looking for work, gets mistaken for a hitman and thereby entangled in a web of love, corruption, and death. This time, he is out to avenge the murder of his lover and the maiming of his left hand.  (Salma plays Carolina, a bookstore owner and the mariachi's new love interest.)
  • Four Rooms (segment "The Misbehavers") (1995)[segment] Directed by: Robert Rodriguez  [segment] starring: Antonio Banderas Tamlyn Tomita  [segment] plot summary: Ted, the bellhop, is left to watch over Banderas' kids, who are experts at misbehaving.  (Salma plays a scantily clad dancer on a TV in the background.)
  • El Callejon de los Milagros  a.k.a. Midaq Alley (1995)  Directed by: Jorge Fons  Starring: Ernesto Gomez Cruz Margarita Sanz  Plot summary: Based on the Nobel Prize Winner's novel, the Egyptian Naguib Mahfouz. The story, translated from El Cairo to Mexico City's downtown, narrates the life of the members of the neighborhood and the connection between them, Don Ru, the owner of the local pub; Eusebia, his wife; Guicho, his son and Abel his friend, who emigrate to USA in search of fortune; Susanita, the single landtender always dreaming to marry a good man; Jimmy, the pub's employee, who extracts the money when Don Ru is not there and finally marries Susanita; Alma becomes a luxury prostitute while he's away, etc. This movie won the Ariel (the Mexican Oscar) as best movie in 1995.  (Salma plays Alma.)
  • From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)  Directed by: Robert Rodriguez  Starring: Harvey Keitel George Clooney Quentin Tarantino Juliette Lewis  Plot summary: Seth Gecko and his younger brother Richard are on the lam after a bloody bank robbery in Texas. With the aid of a priest and his family taken hostage, they escape across the border into Mexico. They just have to survive 'from dusk till dawn' at the rendezvous point, which turns out to be a bar full of vampires.  (Salma plays dancer/vampire Satanico Pandemonium.)
  • Disney's El Jorobado de Notre Dame (1996)  Directed by: Gary Trousdale Kirk Wise  Plot summary: The classic Victor Hugo tale of Quasimodo, the misshapen gentle-souled bell ringer of Notre Dame, who is hidden from the world in the belltower of the cathedral. During the Festival of Fools, Quasimodo decides to take part in the festivities, where he meets the lively gypsy girl Esmeralda and the handsome soldier Phoebus. The three of them find themselves ranged against Frollo's cruelty and his attempts to destroy the home of the gypsies. Quasimodo must desperately defend both Esmeralda and the very cathedral of Notre Dame.  (Salma performs the voice of Esmerelda in the Spanish dubbed version.)
  • Fled (1996)  Directed by: Kevin Hooks  Starring: Laurence Fishburne Stephen Baldwin  Plot summary: Dodge is a computer hacker serving a prison term; Piper is a tough guy. They end up chained together, and flee during a chain-gang escape attempt that goes bad. An adventure plot ensues, involving a missing floppy disk, an attractive woman that assists them, a sinister Federal marshal, an honest cop, and the Cuban mafia.  (Salma plays Cora.)
  • Fools Rush In (1996)  Directed by: Andy Tennant  Starring: Matthew Perry Jon Tenney  Plot summary: Alex Whitmore, a white New York business type, has a one-night stand with Mexican-American Isabel in Las Vegas. She becomes pregnant, and they decide to get married. The culture clash ensues when their families find out about the marriage.  (Salma plays Isabel Fuentes.)
  • The Hunchback (TV movie) (1997)  Directed by: Peter Medak Starring: Richard Harris Mandy Patinkin  (Salma plays Esmerelda in this remake of the classic tale by Victor Hugo.)
